River Raids in Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla has a bunch of exclusive loot that can’t be found anywhere else. This loot is acquired from River Raid Chests scattered all around the area. Unlike other chests in the game, these River Raid Chests can’t be opened with force. Instead, these require players to hunt down River Raid Keys. It’s only by using these River Raid Keys that players will be able to open up the Treasure Chests containing the River Raids loot.

The quests can be started by talking to Vagn and Sunniva and joining their River Raid Crew. Players have the ability to form a group of eight Vikings to attack different camps along the River Exe and the River Severn.
Finding River Raid Keys
In order to find River Raid Keys in the game, players need to use Odin’s Vision and look for white shapes on the map, which indicate the general area of the keys. The locations of keys are always changing, so players won’t find 2 keys at the same location. Keys can be found near windows, in open areas, on top of tables/desks, or in more obscure places like a pile of clothes.
Once acquired, players can use the keys to open up the Treasure Chests. Inside these special chests, players can find resources for the power level rune, different runes, and Saint George-themed armor sets.
If players miss a key or their longboat storage gets full, they can replay the River Raids after returning to Ravensthorpe. This allows players to come back later to collect any missed keys.
