How To Play Zenless Zone Zero On Steam Deck

Zenless Zone Zero has crossed 50M downloads, making it one of the most popular gacha games in the world. However, Steam Deck users are still not able to play it natively. But rest assured, I have a workaround that will get you in the game in no time.

ZZZ runs on Steam Deck via the Heroic Games Launcher. If you haven’t already downloaded it, go ahead and install it on your Steam Deck. You can easily get through the Discover Store.

First, go into Desktop Mode on your Steam Deck and open the Discover Store. Download and install the Heroic Games Launcher.

Add the Game to Epic Games Library

Log into your Epic Games account within Heroic Games Launcher by going to the Manage Accounts tab. If you haven’t already, add Zenless Zone Zero to your Epic Games account from the Store tab.

It is free to play so just check out after adding it.

Click on the arrows in a circle at the top right to refresh your library so that Heroic Games Launcher picks up Zenless Zone Zero.

Install the Game Via Heroic Games Launcher

In Heroic, install the game. This step installs the launcher, so it should be quick. Use Wine GE 8-26 as the compatibility layer.

Once the launcher is downloaded, launch the installer and click on Get Game. If it says you don’t have enough space:

Click on “Change” and go to:

My Computer > C: > Program Files (x86)

You can also install the game on your SD card if you wish to. Now click on “Start Installation.”

To play the game from Game Mode, add the shortcut to Steam. Click the vertical triple-dot icon on the game’s details in Heroic and select “Add to Steam.”

Note: You may need to change your region settings if they default to the wrong location.

Return to Game Mode on your Steam Deck. The game will be in the non-Steam games section of your library. Launch the game, use the touchscreen or set the trackpad to act as a mouse to start it, and then log in.

For optimal performance, consider using a 4G UMA Buffer and CryoUtilities to manage RAM usage.
