You need to have Nickel Ingots to upgrade from ‘Superior’ to ‘Flawless’. To start the upgrade process, head over to Gunnar in the Settlement. In our Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla guide, we’ve provided an overview of how to effectively farm Nickel Ingots.
How to Get Nickel Ingots in Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla
Upgrading weapons and armor is something you’ll constantly need to do to stand a chance at increasingly difficult enemies like Zealots. By upgrading gear, you’ll gain access to additional Rune slots, get extra upgrade slots, and even change the gear’s appearance. However, one thing to keep in mind is that upgrading a gear piece doesn’t increase its stats.
Now that we know how Nickel Ingots work, let’s talk about farming them. Ingots in AC: Valhalla are tied to different regions based on Power Level. If you’re only looking to farm Nickel Ingots, you’ll need to travel to a region that’s somewhere between 90 to 160 Power Level.
Specific areas known to contain Nickel Ingots include East Anglia, Lunden, Oxenefordscire, Sciropescire, Cent, Essexe, Lincolnscire, and Suthsexe. Notable locations such as Brisleah Farm and King’s Bury are great starting points. Raid locations in these areas are often rich with Nickel Ingots.
Once you get to a region, you need to look for ‘Wealth’ or golden icons on the map. Getting closer to these golden dots will reveal them to be either Ingots or some gear piece. What you’re looking for is a ‘bricks’ icon. Remember that these chests can be a little hard to find. You’ll often have to assassinate someone to acquire a key, destroy a weakened structure, or move things around.
Nickel Ingots can be spotted using the Raven and Odin Sight. They appear as gold dots on the map, turning into three gold bars when you get close. You can find them in treasure chests or as loot from Elite enemies. Keep an eye out for the Ingot symbol on your compass and map to uncover these valuable resources.
In addition to this, you can also assassinate Elite enemies in the area, trade fish, complete Hunting Deliveries, or buy them from merchants. Once you’ve found your first Nickel Ingot, they can be purchased from merchants for 250 Silver each. This is currently one of the fastest ways to acquire Nickel Ingots, so it’s wise to stock up on silver for this purpose.
