How to Transmog in Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla?

Transmog in Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla is a much-awaited feature that recently made it to the game with the release of Title Update 1.2.0. Since fashion has always been the true endgame, Transmog lets players change the appearance of weapons/armor for a small cost. But how does one do it? In this Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla guide, we’ve detailed everything there’s to know about how Transmog works in the game.

Keep in mind, while the Transmog feature is a beloved addition to Valhalla, similar to its implementation in previous titles like Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey, it differs by requiring a visit to Gunnar and a small fee for each item’s appearance change. This new system allows players to customize Eivor’s appearance.

Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla Transmog

Transmog is an interesting mechanic present in different games. What it does is that it lets players keep the appearance of a weapon or an armor set without worrying about stats. For example, if a player likes the stats offered by the Mentor Armor Set but not its appearance, he can keep the stats of the Mentor Armor Set onto something that he likes the appearance of e.g. Altaïr Armor Set. Therefore, the game lets players get the best of both worlds – the appearance of one and the stats of the other. This can be done for both weapons and armor.

Transmog in Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey didn’t cost anything but costs 50 Silver per item in Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla. To get started with Transmog, players need to head over to Gunnar in Ravensthorpe. Once there, players will be able to replicate the look of any armor that they’ve found in the world to the one that they prefer. Now the Mentor Armor Set that I love the stats of can look like Altaïr Armor Set from the Godly Reward.

When it comes to Transmoging weapons in AC: Valhalla, they need to belong to the same category. It isn’t possible to Transmog the look of a Battle Axe to a Dagger. A small star on an item will show that it’s been Transmog-ed.

How to Transmog?

To utilize Transmog, make sure your game is updated to at least Patch 1.2.0. Visit Gunnar, the Blacksmith in your settlement Ravensthorpe, located near the docks.

Choose “Let me see your services” to open Gunnar’s shop screen. In the shop, navigate to the “Change Appearance” tab, select the item whose appearance you want to change, then choose the desired appearance from the items you own. A preview of the new look is available before confirming your choice. Each Transmog action costs 50 Silver, which will be deducted upon application.

Preserving Stats.

Remember, the Transmog feature preserves the original stats and set membership of the item, only altering its visual appearance. Items with Transmog applied will have a star marker in your inventory to indicate the change. If you ever wish to reset an item to its default appearance, you can do so at Gunnar’s shop, though the 50 Silver fee will not be refunded.

Additionally, the introduction of the Godly Reward Pack alongside the Transmog system allows players to access a range of items, including the iconic Altaïr’s Outfit, for use in Transmog.

River Raids

Since Transmog requires spending silver, engaging in River Raids can be an effective way to accumulate the necessary funds. River Raids offer an opportunity to collect valuable loot, including silver, which can then be used for Transmog and other in-game expenses.

That’s all we’ve got in how Transmog works in Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla. For more help on the game, feel free to check out our detailed Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla wiki guides.
