Similar to Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey, there are a total of 12 Legendary Animals that you can find in Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla. They’re completely optional but you must find and kill them all if you want to 100% the game. In this guide, we’ve shared the locations of all 10 Legendary Animals that you can find in Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla to earn the Master Hunter achievement/trophy.
Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla Legendary Animals Locations
Legendary Animals in AC: Valhalla come under the category of “Mysteries” on the map. Once you get a little closer to them, you’ll notice the white dot on the map change to a “paw”. You can’t, however, just walk up to them and hope to defeat them. These animals have a fairly large health pool and hit like a truck, especially if you’re under-leveled – I’d even go out and categorize them as mini-bosses.
In addition to them being tough to beat, they’re also accompanied by their minions. Therefore, you should try to increase your Power Level before attempting to defeat them. You’ll find them scattered all around England, Norway, and Vinland. Try to damage them from range if you possibly can; otherwise, poison DoT is your best friend. Below, you’ll find all the Alpha Animals that you can find while roaming England:
Legendary Animal | Power Level | Location |
Elk of Bloody Peaks | 1 | Rygjafylke |
Black Shuck | 160 | South-east corner of East Anglia, past Beodoricsworth |
The Corpse Feeders | 160 | Oxenefordscire, north-east of Buckingham and west of the synchronization point. |
Gemad Wulf | 220 | South of Grimsby, Lincolnscire |
Aelfreds Battle Sow | 250 | South-west of Croindene in Suthesexe, close to Tuicca’s Farm |
Beast of the Hills | 190 | In the middle of Sciropescire |
Wildcats of the Weald | 340 | Highest area of Hamtunscire |
The Blood Swine | 210 | South section of Eurvicscire |
Steinnbjorn | 400 | Jotunheim, north of the synchronization point |
Black Stout | 469 | Northeast section of Connacht in Ireland |
O Yan Do’ Ne | 150 | Loterio‘tatterton:ke, in Vinland |
Bear Of The Blue Waters | 310 | Norway in Hordafylke |
Black Shuck
Region: East Anglia
The Black Shuck is precisely located southeast corner of East Anglia. On your way to it, you’ll pass by Beodoricsworth. So, keep that in mind, and you’ll be able to find it in no time. You can use ranged attacks to defeat the legendary beast, or you can use fire and poison abilities.
The Corpse Feeders
Region: Oxenefordscire
The next legendary animal is the Corpse Feeder. These are well known for their desire to rip throats apart. These are a dangerous breed of wolves, and three of them will be found near Oxenefordscire. Each of these beasts will have their own health bar that you’ll need to diminish. It is worth mentioning that when once these wolves eat a corpse, they will heal. So you need to keep that from happening. Furthermore, you do not want one of them to get behind you.
Beast of the Hills
Region: Sciropescire
Beast of the Hills is located underground inside the hills of Sciropescire. There will be a small opening through a hill east of Wrocken and west of Wenlocan Abbey. Since it is underground, this one is a bit tricky to find. The bear can drink to heal itself, but it is rather slow, so you should use that to your advantage.
Gemand Wulf
Region: Lincolnscire
Gemand Wulf, a deadly legendary animal, has a tactical attack strategy that you’ll need to be wary of. So, keep an eye out for attack patterns and try to guess its next move. This beast is found far south of the Grimsby. So, pack your rations and quivers well before setting out on this mission. We recommend using single-handed weapons since they allow you to land more hits and have better DPS. Furthermore, Poison Strike and Miasma are two skills that will be very helpful in this encounter.
The Blood Swine
Region: Eurvicscire
The Blood Swine is another wild beast that’s got quite the attack strength. These can be found in the southern section of Eurvicscire, right over the river of Snotingham. A ranged build is going to be tricky for this encounter since hitting the weak spots is going to be difficult. This is why we recommend going with a melee build instead.
Aelfred’s Battle-Sow
Region: Suthsexe
Aelfred’s Battle Sow is one hell of a beast. This bull can be found with his pals southwest of Croindene in Suthesexe, next to the Tuicca’s Farm. The beast has deadly horns and will charge at you. So you need to make sure that you have the stamina to dodge out of the way. Both melee and ranged builds are going to be fine for this encounter.
Wildcats of the Weald
Region: Hamtunscire
The Wild Cats of the Weald are found near Hamtunscire in high-altitude areas. You’ll need to be quiet once you reach here, as this beast is quite sensitive to noise and detects you with the faintest of sounds. You should take advantage of the Man’s Best Friend ability for this encounter.
Elk of Bloody Peaks
Region: Rygjafylke
The first animal, Elk of Bloody Peaks, is found in the Rygjafylke region, up south towards the mountain areas. This is the first of the legendary animals in the game and is the easiest to kill. So you should have little difficulty dealing with this one.
Bear of the Blue Waters
Region: Hordafylke
This is a giant polar bear that you can find in Hordafylke in Norway. The bear moves slowly and cannot attack you if you are behind it. So do take advantage of that. Going with a melee build with poison or fire buildup is going to be key for this encounter.
O Yan Do’ Ne
Region: Vinland
This giant moose can be found in Loterio‘tatterton:ke in Vinland. This legendary animal does not have a power level requirement, but we recommend a power level between 100 and 200 to stand a fighting chance. A bow and a club are going to work fine for this boss fight.
Steinnbjorn
Region: Jotunheim Steinnbjorn is a terrifying beast that you get to face at the end of the Asgard arc in Jotunheim. This beast will give you a hell of a hard time, so grab onto all of your best gear and rations before you head out for this one, as it has a whopping 400 power level. The bear is slow, but it does have ice abilities which can be rather devastating.
Black Stout
Region: Connacht The Black Stout legendary animal was added to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla as part of the Wrath of the Druids DLC. You can find it in the northeast section of Connacht in Ireland. You will fight the beast in a swamp arena that is closed off by fences. We recommend using ranged attacks for this encounter and targeting the weak points of the legendary beast. These are the locations of all the Legendary Animals in Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla to unlock the Master Hunter achievement/trophy.
