Missions in Cyberpunk 2077 can be completed in many different ways. How you go about a mission is going to affect the outcome and will have a lasting impact on Night City. The Pick Up is the first mission in the game that is not linear and has choices and outcomes. In this Cyberpunk 2077 guide, we are going to walk you through the choices and outcomes of The Pick Up mission.
Cyberpunk 2077: The Pick Up Choices And Outcomes

| Side With Militech | You will have to fight your way out of the Maelstrom base. You will get the option to romance Meredith Stout. |
| Save Brick | Bring will take charge and will work alongside you in a future side mission. |
| Side With Militech But Don’t Save Brick | You will need to fight through an optional side job that involves the Maelstrom. |
| Side with Maelstrom (shard cleared) | You will need to fight against Militech but Maelstrom will fight alongside you. The gang will be on good terms with you in a future side mission. |
| Side with Maelstrom (pay out of pocket) | You do not have to fight and will meet the gang leader on good terms in a future side mission. |
There are two main ways in which you can approach the mission. You can either make a deal with Maelstrom, or you can go in guns blazing and take the flathead by force. We are going to go over both these paths and mention all the choices that you can make as well as the outcomes of each choice.
Make A Deal With Maelstrom
If you decide to take this route, then there are a couple of things that you can do.
Meet With Stout
Firstly, you have the optional objective to meet the corpo agent Stout. If you do go meet her, then you get the chance to romance her. If you are interested in that, then you can check out our guide on how you can romance Meredith Stout.
If you do meet with Stout, she is going to offer you a credchip to pay for the Flathead.
What Happens If You Do Not Take The Credchip?
If you do not take it, then later on, you can decide to pay for the flathead with your own money or shoot Royce during the conversation. Paying with your own money is going to trigger a peaceful outcome, and the long-term effect is that Anthony Gilchrist is going to prevail over Stout.
If you shoot Royce in the middle of the conversation, then this is going to trigger a violent outcome. The long-lasting impact is that Stout is going to prevail over Anthony Gilchrist.
What Happens If You Take The Credchip?
Taking the chip opens up a couple of options. You can buy the Flathead with the chip but warn Royce that it is infected; you can buy it with the credchip after you have cracked it from your inventory or you can buy it with your own money. All these three options are going to trigger the violent outcome. The long-term outcome is that Gilchrist is going to prevail over Stout and is going to bet a promotion.
There are two other options as well. These are buying the Flathead with the infected chip and shooting Royce during the conversation. Both of these result in a violent outcome as well but the long-term outcome is going to be different. Stout is going to prevail over Gilchrist.
Do Not Meet With Stout
Meeting Stout is optional, and you can choose to not meet her at all. Do so, and you will lose the chance to romance her. If you do not meet her, then you can buy the Flathead with your own money or shoot Royce during the conversation.
Buying the Flathead with your own money is going to give you a peaceful outcome. Shooting Royce is going to give you a violent outcome. In both cases, the long-term outcome is going to be the same. Gilchrist is going to prevail over Stout, but Militech forces are not going to show up.
No Deal With Maelstrom, Take Flathead By Force
If you want to go in guns blazing, then you can do that. You can then rip off a turret, detonate a mine at the warehouse, and attack a Maelstrom member in the main hall. This is obviously going to lead to a violent outcome. Gilchrist is going to prevail over Stout, but Militech forces are not going to show up.
