New Game Plus has always been a staple in FromSoftware games and Elden Ring is no different. After beating the game once, you can essentially restart the game with all your previously earned levels, collected items, etc. There are, however, a few things that must be noted before NG+. In this guide, we have detailed all there is to know about New Game Plus, things that go away, and things that persist.
Elden Ring New Game Plus
There are a lot of changes that must be kept in mind before beginning a NG+ in Elden Ring. The key difference in NG+ is the increase in difficulty — enemies and bosses have more HP and deal more damage. The difficulty scales with each NG+ cycle, capping at NG+7. Rune scaling is another important change. The amount of Runes earned from enemies increases significantly.
In the sections below, we have provided a brief overview of all the changes that can be expected in NG+ modes:
Things that Stay
Below, we have provided a complete list of all the things that persist through NG+:
- Character Level
- All the weapons, armor, sorceries, spells, incantations, Talismans, cookbooks, etc.
- Exploration progress on the map
- Remembrances
- Upgrades from Sacred Tear and Golden Apple
- Memory Stones
Things that Go Away
As for the things that do not persist in NG+ include the following:
- Site of Graces – all of them
- Medallions
- All the NPC questlines
- Bell Bearings
- Prayerbooks
- Keys
- Great Runes
- Story-related items
Another thing to keep in mind is that there are no exclusive items in Elden Ring like Dark Souls. However, people can get weapons from Remembrances in NG+.
How to Start NG+
To start NG+, you will need to go to Roundtable Hold and interact with the Site of Grace. The game presents an option to “Begin Journey 2,” which initiates the NG+.
