As you progress through Baldur’s Gate 3 you will reach the Adamantine Forge. Here you will need to forge a new item and beat Grym. Character positioning is very important for this encounter since it can make taking down the boss very easy. In this Baldur’s Gate 3 guide, we go over how you can defeat Grym in the Adamantine Forge.
There is an area near the waypoint with lava and igneous rocks. Cross to the other side to break the ore deposit to get Mithral Ore. Place this in the central node. You can place any weapon or shield mold in the small box. Pick a weapon that you should like to use. Now pull the forge control lever.
How To Defeat Grym In Baldur’s Gate 3
To make the boss fight with Grym in Baldur’s Gate 3 much easier, we recommend ungrouping your team. One character should be at the control lever. Two ranged characters should stand on the mold box while the last one should be at the lava valve.
Interacting with the lava valve will flood the area with lava and the boss will appear. Grym can only be damaged while it is inside the lava. The boss is also resistant to cold, lightning, and force elements. The boss will attack the last character that dealt damage to it, this should be the character on the mold box.
When Grym moves to attack the character on the mold box, the boss will come to the center of the machine. You can then pull the control lever and have the piston smash the boss. This not only deals damage but will knock out the boss for 2 turns. The first piston smash will spawn Mephit but you can take them out with ranged attacks.
This is not going to work perfectly every single time. So you will want to save the same before the fight and load back in if something goes wrong. Agro the boss to bring it to the center of the machine and then smash it with the piston to deal damage.
Defeating Grym in Baldur’s Gate 3 will get you the Grymskull Helm which has the Hunter’s Mark spell, resistance to fire damage, and a debuff to enemy critical hit chance.
