Fallout 4 is one of the best story-driven games, and it provides massive support for mods to be installed into it. Modding Fallout 4 is simple and easy, and Bethesda has its own modding tools to use in Fallout 4 and give it a totally new look. There are several ways to install mods on PC for Fallout 4. This is a guide on how to install mods in the Fallout 4 PC version.
Fallout 4 PC Mods Tool
To mod any game, or specifically Fallout 4, you can do so in several possible ways, but first of all, you will have to search for mods that you want to install for Fallout 4. You can download mods from Nexus Mods, which is the most trusted website. Pick the mod that you want to install, then click on the “Files” tab. After doing this, click on the “Download Manually” Link and proceed with saving the file to whichever folder you want to save it in.
After you have downloaded the mods file, you will have to extract the mods folder or files using Winrar or any zip archive application. Then navigate to the folder that you downloaded files in, and copy all the files. You will then have to place them in the proper folder for them to work in-game.
Usually, the folder to paste files in is: “C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common” When in this folder, look for “Fallout 4”, and then the “Data” folder in the Fallout 4 folder. This “Data” folder is where you will have to copy the files. A dialog box will appear to ask you to merge the files and folders; click “Yes”.
Finally, Fallout 4 will have to look for the mods, which is why you will have to edit the “.ini” file, which can always be found in this path: C:\Users\*USERNAME*\Documents\my games\Fallout4. Select the “Fallout 4.ini” file and right-click on it, after right-clicking, select “Edit” from the dialog box. Now press “ctrl + F” to search the file for this command line: “sResourceDataDirsFinal=STRINGS\”, now add the relative command for the mod in this line.
For Lowered Weapons, you will have to enter “MESHES\”, the line after editing will look like this: sResourceDataDirsFinal=STRINGS\, MESHES\. However, the name that you will add will not always be MESHES\, it depends upon the file or mod that you are adding in Fallout 4. After this, save the file, launch the game, and enjoy the mods.
