Advancing to new generations is one of the key aspects of Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey. Why should you consider moving to the new generation, you may ask? Well, it’s to lock in your existing skills, learn some more, have mature neurons & genetic mutations, and be more advanced than your previous generations.
Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey Generations
Since Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey doesn’t like to hold your hand and explain everything as you go, you can take quite a few approaches to play the game, depending on what learned during your playthrough.
In this Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey Generations Guide, we’ll talk about how reinforcements work and how you can seamlessly advance to new generations in the game.
How Generations and Skill Trees Work?
In Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey, you mature Neurons by doing certain actions as you explore the Savanna. Kids provide you with Neuronal Energy that you can use to acquire new skills – it’s equivalent to kids learning by watching their parents.
The number of kids you’ve is directly proportional to the number of Reinforcement Points you have. Reinforcement Points allow you to lock down the skills you’ve learned. What this means is that you’re essentially teaching these skills to your kids so that they grow with them as adults.
Once you’ve locked some skills down, you can skip to the next generation and play as those kids, now adults, with the skills that you reinforced in the previous generations. The cycle continues with you learning more things and reinforcing it for the next generation.
As you get more children and continue to pass generations, some of your babies will exhibit genetic mutations. For instance, being taller than people in the previous generations. Evolving essentially allows you to lock in these genetic traits so, in about a thousand years, everyone will have them, as these genes would’ve spread to everyone.
The reason why this is important is that some Neurons in the game require a Genetic Mutation to occur to unlock. Therefore, it’s important that you breed as much as you can and give birth so that you have more Reinforcement Points at your disposal.
How to Advance Generations
In order to advance generations and use your Reinforcement Points, you need to lie down and open your Evolution menu. Open up the Generations tab and take note of everything you know and the skills you learned.
Once you’ve made a decision on which skills you wish to lock in, do so for as many as Reinforcement Points you have and confirm.
Doing this will pass the time by 15 years and now your babies will be adults, adults will be elders, and the elders will obviously die. Keeping this in mind, it goes without saying but having more babies is arguably the most aspect of the game. It’s also important to note that you need to have at least one baby in your clan if you wish to do so.
Tips
As a general rule of thumb, you need to breed as much as you can and try to find more fertile apes to make babies. Once you have done that, unlock whatever you want, use all the points you have from children and reinforce to lock in your skills and unlock even more Evolution Perks passively from children.
Moreover, the more the bones you have from the previous generations, the more Neuron Points you’ll get in the game. Then you simply repeat the cycle with evolving and unlocking more perks.
This marks the end of our Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey Generations Guide.
