How To Open Gauntlet Chests In Diablo 4

For those of us who are running the endgame in Diablo 4, the launch of Season 3 brought an opportunity to earn Gauntlet Chests. These are part of the new Trials activities where you compete for the top of the leaderboard.

But once you can earn a Gauntlet Chest, how do you open it? The answer is simple, you need to get an Iron Key to open Gauntlet Chests in Diablo 4.

Don’t run off somewhere else to earn the keys because the Iron Keys are part of the Gauntlet and cannot be earned anywhere else in the game.

During my run I was only able to earn Iron Keys from enemies marked with a fiery skull on the minimap. I tried multiple other enemies, but none have dropped an Iron Key. This leads me to believe that Iron Keys are exclusive drops from enemies marked with a fiery skull icon.

Types of Chests You Can Open With Iron Keys

Gauntlet Chests are divided into two categories, Normal and Golden. The Golden Gauntlet Chests drop Proofs of Might in Diablo 4 while the Normal Gauntlet Chests drop random loot.

Lastly, for those new to Season 3, you can find the Gauntlet in the Seasonal Realm. It is only accessible through the Horns of Trials. Go to the longest Dock of the port in Gea Kul, Kehjistan. You can see the Gauntlet Location in the image I shared above.

Make sure you reach World Level 4 to access the Gauntlet.

Season 3 also gives you the opportunity to get Shattered Stones and Seneschal Stones. Both essential items that I recommend you farm during the season.
