The Midwinter Blight event, a festive addition to Diablo 4, is a time-limited event running from December 12th to January 2nd. It introduces unique enemies, collectibles, and rewards, including the Blighted Fragments which is like one of the currencies that you get by participating in The Midwinter Blight event. This guide will help you understand everything you need to know about Blighted Fragments in Diablo 4.
Diablo 4 Blighted Fragments
Blighted Fragments are primarily obtained by defeating Blightfiends (and Elite ones) that are spawned from destroying Frigid Husks — in stacks of 4-7. You should easily be able to find these creatures in the Fractured Peaks.
You will come across The Red Cloaked Horror upon completing the Blighted Revelry Event. It should be hidden somewhere within the Fractured Peak, so you will need to search around a little. It is not a bad idea to have a few buddies since it can be challenging.
Once you have farmed enough Blighted Fragments, you should be able to exchange them for Midwinter Proof, a currency used for purchasing various rewards throughout The Midwinter Blight. For every 300 Blighted Fragments, you will get 1 Midwinter Proof. You can then use the Midwinter Proof to purchase cosmetics, skins, and event-specific items such as the Midwinter Talwaar, Gileon’s Brew, etc.
Where to Exchange?
You will need to visit Gileon in Kyovashad to exchange Blighted Fragments and to purchase items with Midwinter Proof. Exchanging the Blighted Fragments also unlocks tiers on the Midwinter Tribute Board, offering additional rewards like Gold, Midwinter Spoils, etc. Other than cosmetics, you will also be able to get:
Gileon’s Brew
It is a Magic Elixir, which increases Maximum Life and Lucky Hit Chance, is a crucial item for leveling new characters.
Shard of Dawn
After 30 seconds of Night’s Grasp, gain Dawn’s Haste, increasing your Attack Speed and Movement speed by +12 Seconds. While empowered by the Midwinter Ward, killing an enemy reduces Night’s Grasp duration by +1 second.
