Similar to the hoverboards used by the Cloudstriders on Neomuna, Skimmers allow Guardians to zoom around maps at high speeds, perform tricks, and grind on thin air. Acquiring the Skimmer in Destiny 2
Your quest to acquire the Skimmer begins with the Best in Class questline. You need to speak with Eva Levante in the Tower which will introduce you to the event mechanics. You will also get a temporary common-tier Allstar Vector Skimmer to use until the end of Guardian Games, so to keep a Skimmer permanently, you must complete the Drop In questline.
Best in Class
To complete the Best in Class questline, you will need to complete these steps:
- Purchase a Card from Eva Levante: This is your entry ticket to the Guardian Games.
- Participate in Events: While wearing the Class Item acquired from Eva Levante, complete a round of Supremacy or a Guardian Games playlist activity.
- Progress through Dialogues: Engage in conversations with Eva Levante, Commander Zavala, and Lord Shaxx.
- Deposit Medallions: Deposit your medallions at the podium in the Tower.
- Claim Challenges: Check your Quest tab to claim your first Event Challenge.
Pro Tip
Drop In
Upon finishing Best in Class questline, Eva Levante will assign you the Drop In quest. This is your key to permanently unlocking the Skimmer. You need to complete any one of the following objectives:
Medallion Score Objective
You need to bank medallions at the Tower, with different types offering varying points.
- Bronze: 1
- Silver: 2
- Gold: 5
- Platinum: 15
- Diamond: To be Updated.
You should try to aim for higher-rarity medallions for quicker progress. Alternatively, watching different Destiny 2 streams on Twitch for 2-hours during the Guardian Games can earn you a Diamond Medal.
Nightfall Top 10% Score
You simply need to achieve a score within the top 10% in the Nightfall Competitive Playlist. From what we have tested so far, defeating Orange-bar enemies or higher like Champions with Finishers after performing an emote is the fastest way to attain a good score.
Other than that, using Supers, reviving teammates, collecting Orbs of Power, etc. are also helpful.

Alternate Way to Earn Skimmer
