Intel 14th Gen Non-K CPUs Deliver Single Digit Performance Boost

Intel has launched the new 14th generation non-K (not overclockable) CPUs, Intel Core 14900, 14700, 14500, 14400, and 14100. All of these CPUs have the same specifications as the previous generation 13th gen Intel CPUs, with only the i7-14700 getting a bump to 20 cores (8P+12E) compared to the previous generation i7-13700 that only featured 16 cores (8P+8E). Benchmarks reveal that the Intel 14th gen non-K CPUs have lackluster performance compared to the previous generation and only offer single-digit relative performance boosts.

Conclusion

If you already have an Intel 13th generation CPU then upgrading to an Intel 14th gen CPU will not be worth it keeping in mind the performance difference. I can only recommend this refresh to people who are on a much older generation and do not want to skip another generation. With that said, AMD does have competitive options that offer better value for money.
