“Into Lands Unknown” is a quest in Fallout 76 that takes you on a path to uncover Vault 63. The quest begins after you receive the initial distress beacon from Vault-Tec and encounter Alyssa at the Vault 63 door crash site.
Alyssa sends you to the Ash Heap region, near the Garrahan Estate, to explore Vault 63. This is also close to the new map expansion, Skyline Valley.
Upon entering the remains of the Vault 63 entrance, you’ll encounter your first Lost Dweller. They’re preoccupied with some scrap, so you can easily take them down.
Proceed deeper into the vault, clearing out the Lost Dwellers and Ghouls you encounter.
These enemies are not particularly difficult but be prepared for two waves of attackers from both sides once you reach the center. A Plasma Cutter is the perfect weapon to have for this mission.
After defeating the enemies, head to the back room and interact with the intercom to speak with Hilda. She will instruct you to visit Skyline Valley to find another Vault 63 entrance located underneath Dark Hollow Manor.
Before you head there, Hilda directs you to a small shack in Skyline Valley where you’ll meet Craig from Foundation.
Craig and his group have been attacked by Lost Dwellers. He asks for your help in finding his lost crew and retrieving their personal effects.
Meeting Craig and Locating the Survivors
Miles
- Location: Near the lookout point east of Craig’s position, up the road.
- Details: Miles didn’t survive. His body is found hanging over a chain fence with Bloodbugs around. Clear the area, check the body, place a flare, and follow the blood trail to find his hat on a ledge below the cliff.
Rob
- Location: Further east down the road in a tunnel.
- Details: Rob also met an untimely demise. The tunnel is filled with Bloodbugs and other critters. Clear the tunnel, place a flare beside Rob’s body, and find his journal halfway inside the tunnel by a lantern on the right-hand side.
Rebecca
- Location: Continue through the tunnel and follow the road to a dirt path leading to Dark Hollow Manor.
- Details: At the gate of Dark Hollow Manor, you’ll find a pool of blood and a lantern. After placing a flare, you’ll be ambushed by Lost Dwellers. Defeat them, and then find Rebecca’s holotags leaning against the right-hand pillar of the gate.
After retrieving Rebecca’s holotags, enter Dark Hollow Manor and traverse the area to complete the “Into Lands Unknown” quest.
