Sony Interactive Entertainment, SIE, is working on a new video game with the codename “PROJECT I.” It is an upcoming video game that is looking for actors for face scans.
According to a casting call advert (posted on June 21), SIE wants someone to play a Middle Eastern teenage boy (15 to 18 years old), and Middle Eastern woman (30 to 45 years old).
The casting call doesn’t give anything away other than the fact that the casting director is Alexa Kolb. Alexa has been associated with many Sony exclusive projects over the years including:
- Spider Man 2
- The Last of Us Part II
- Ghost of Tsushima
- Days Gone
- Knack II
- Understand: A Thief’s End
- The Order 1886
- and many more
Moreover, given how much emphasize they are putting on very specific requirements for the actor’s facial features, I think this is a strong indication of this being a third person, very character focused game, like most other Sony titles.
We haven’t heard from SIE Sony Bend, SIE Sony Japan and London studios for a while so I hope one of these talented studios is behind this project, giving a much-needed breather to Naughty Dog and Insomniac Games.
