Resident Evil 2 Remake Sold More Copies Than Any Other RE Game

The popularity of game remakes has been further solidified by Capcom’s announcement that the Resident Evil 2 Remake has sold an impressive 13.9 million units worldwide across all platforms. This milestone makes it the best-selling game in the Resident Evil franchise, surpassing all other titles in the series.

Originally released in January 2019, the Resident Evil 2 Remake brought a fresh take on the classic 1998 survival horror game, updating the graphics, gameplay mechanics, and overall experience for modern audiences.

The game eventually made its way to the Nintendo Switch in November 2022 as a Cloud Version. Players curious about this version can try out a demo available on the Switch eShop to test their internet connection’s capability for streaming.

Capcom’s strategic move to remake Resident Evil 2 has paid off, highlighting the growing trend and commercial success of revisiting and revamping classic games for new and returning fans.

For those yet to experience this critically acclaimed title, now might be the perfect time to dive in. The game is currently available at a 60% discount until July 8th, 2024.
