Cooking is one of the basics of gameplay in No Rest for the Wicked. Through cooking you can craft and cook different recipes to boost your health, stamina, and get temporary damage boost among other things.
To cook in No Rest for the Wicked you need a Fire Pit, cooking ingredients and learn the correct recipe. Recipes are available in different locations in No Rest for the Wicked but they are mainly found inside loot chests and can be purchased from vendors.
How Cooking Works In No Rest For The Wicked
Once you have the recipe you want to make and all required ingredients, the final step is finding a Fire Pit. Unlike games like Zelda: Breath of the Wild or Tears of the Kingdom, you can’t make fire so instead you need to find Fire Pits that are already active.
When at a Fire Pit, interact with it to open a menu with all your available recipes and ingredients. You can then select which recipe you want to make. For example, if you want to cook a Mushroom Soup, you’ll need 1x Mushroom and 1x Artemisia Herb.
Every Way Of Getting Cooking Ingredients
- Fishing
- Looting chests
- Killing and looting enemies
- Purchasing from vendors
Note: Fishing requires a fishing rod which becomes available by default as part of the main story quests very early on.
As you can see there are multiple ways to get your hands on cooking ingredients in No Rest for the Wicked. However, the easiest way is exploration to loot chests and killing enemies. It’s not worth spending money on buying ingredients unless you need an extremely rare cooking ingredients available at a merchant location.
