How Construction Works
Start by using the Add to Pile action to create a supply of the required construction items. Once you have enough items in the stockpile, use the Start Construction action.
Finally, use the Build action repeatedly to complete the structure.
Several specific items can be constructed in the game, each serving a unique purpose:
- Branch Barrier: Made using four Dead Branches. These can be used to construct protective barriers around your settlement.
- Sleeping Spot: Constructed using four Natal Grass Cycads, this provides a place for your clan to rest.
- Thornbush Wall: Made with four Thornbushes, useful for creating defensive walls.
The number of items required for construction can be reduced by learning specific neurons.
Deconstruction
Certain constructed items, like the Branch Barrier and Thornbush Wall, can be removed after construction. Use the Start Deconstruction and Deconstruct actions to dismantle these structures, though materials used in the construction will be lost.
Neurons Impacting Construction
Developing specific neurons can aid in construction efficiency. Key neurons include:
- Building (NE 01): Reduces the number of items needed for construction.
- Building Efficiency (NE 02): Further decreases the items required and simplifies the construction process when near a stockpile.
How to Construct Structures
Constructing structures is an important part of Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey. Players can construct different structures, each serving a specific purpose. Players can construct resting areas among other structures for their clan.
The following are the structures you can construct in Ancestors The Humankind Odyssey with tips on how to build them.
Resting Spot
Constructing a sleeping spot is similar to building a branch barricade, but with Natal Grass Cycads instead of branches:
- Gather four Natal Grass Cycads.
- Pile them up using the Add to Pile action.
- Start construction and build the sleeping spot.
Resting spot or sleeping spot is necessary as it’s essential to grow your clan. Not only that, this structure provides the best sleep for Hominids and fills their sleep meter better compared to sleeping on the ground.
To construct a resting spot you need natal grass cycads. Natal Grass Cycads can be acquired in Savanna and is found pretty much everywhere. Pile up Natal Grass Cycads and interact with them and construct your sleeping spot.
Branch Barricade
To build a branch barricade:
- Gather and pile up four dead branches.
- Use the Add to Pile action to stockpile the branches.
- The HUD will prompt you to start construction.
- Use the Build action to construct the barricade.
Branch Barricade is important for your clan protection from predators. To build a Branch Barricade you need 4 dead branches which can be found in Savanna and don’t need to travel far from the camp. Pile up the dead branches and interact with them to construct the Branch Barricade.
