How To Get Sacred Flame In BG3

Sacred Flame can be acquired by the following classes:

  • Cleric
  • Bard (via the College of Lore at level 6 through Magical Secrets)

Feats provide another way to acquire Sacred Flame, especially if your character does not naturally have access to it: Magic Initiate (Cleric).

How To Sacred Flame Works

Sacred Flame is effective against many types of enemies, particularly undead. The spell does not require an attack roll but instead forces the target to make a Dexterity saving throw. This makes Sacred Flame particularly useful against targets with low Dexterity.

One of the notable advantages of Sacred Flame is that it is not affected by cover. Since the spell targets the enemy directly, obstacles between you and the target do not hinder its effectiveness.

In terms of scaling, Sacred Flame’s damage increases as you level up:

  • At level 5, the damage increases to 2d8.
  • At level 10, the damage increases to 3d8.
