Baldur’s Gate 3 Guidance Cantrip Spell And Effect Guide

The Guidance cantrip is a on our list of best Cantrip spells in Baldur’s Gate 3, often sought after for its ability to provide a crucial skill check bonus.

Guidance allows the caster to give a temporary boost to a character’s ability checks. When cast, it provides a +1d4 bonus to any ability check made by the target within a short duration. This spell is particularly useful in situations requiring skill checks, such as lockpicking, persuasion, or perception tasks.

As a cantrip, it does not consume spell slots, making it freely usable as often as needed.

How To Get Guidance Cantrip Spell In BG3

The most straightforward way to obtain the Guidance cantrip is by selecting a class or subclass that naturally has access to it. In Baldur’s Gate 3, the following classes can learn Guidance:

Alternate Methods

If your character’s main class does not have access to Guidance, consider multiclassing into a class that does. For example, adding a level of Cleric or Druid can provide you with the Guidance cantrip.

You can also obtain the Guidance cantrip by taking the “Magic Initiate” feat for Cleric or Druid at level 4. This feat allows any character to learn cantrips from these classes, including Guidance

In Baldur’s Gate 3, certain items can grant access to the Guidance cantrip. For instance, the Silver Pendant found at the Harper Outpost southwest of the Druid Grove provides the ability to cast Guidance
