“Airship Down” is a pivotal quest in Fallout 4 for players aligned with the Institute. This mission involves neutralizing the Brotherhood of Steel’s presence at Boston Airport.
Visit Doctor Li (or Evan Watson if she is absent) in Institute Advanced Systems. Discuss the plan to minimize the Brotherhood’s machinations. Dr. Rosalind Orman will hand over teleport beacons to assist you.
You’ll need Institute Beacon (x3) for this mission.
The airport is south of East Boston. Use stealth or prepare for resistance as you infiltrate the terminal via a hole in the wall.
Destroy three generators marked on the Boston Airport map. Expect fire from turrets and other defenses.
Note: Your actions may be compromised by active Vertibirds. Consider carrying a missile-based weapon for extended conflicts.
Generator Locations
- First Generator: Far side of a Vertibird landing pad.
- Second Generator: Guarded by a Protectron and turrets atop the control tower.
- Third Generator: End of a skywalk leading to Liberty Prime.
A synth will reach Liberty Prime to upload a virus. Your task is to defend the synth during the upload process.
Use high ground and deploy Institute teleport beacons in high-traffic areas. Stay behind Prime’s head or in the covered corridor for a clear view of the hacking synth.
Maintain defenses until the upload reaches 100%.
Once the upload is complete, immediately evacuate the area. Head to the ground and back away to the north.
Final Judgement
If you manage to eliminate Elder Maxson during this quest, retrieve his unique Laser Gatling weapon, “Final Judgment.”
