Plan B, in Cyberpunk 2077 is a fairly unique weapon that completionists would like to add to their collection. Before you can get the weapon, however, you’ll need to progress a little through the game’s main story – to the point where you meet the rockstar for the very first time.
Cyberpunk 2077 Plan B Location
Before we begin, do note that the guide contains huge spoilers. If you’ve yet to meet Johnny Silverhand in the game, we’d recommend not reading any further. You’ve been warned!
To get the Iconic Weapon from Dexter DeShawn called the Plan B, you need to return to the area where Arasaka murdered him and you see Johnny Silverhand for the very first time. If you don’t know where the area is, check out the screenshot attached below:
Once you get to the area, you’ll see Dex’s rotting corpse amidst all the junk. You simply need to approach the corpse and loot it off Dex’s body. Plan B is nothing crazy but it’s a unique weapon nonetheless.
If you’re interested in completing the collection of all the Iconic Weapons in the game, you’ll probably want to get your hands on this one too.
Plan B Stats
While not the most impressive weapon out there, Plan B has pretty decent stats, especially for a weapon that you can get fairly early in the campaign. You can consider Plan B a slightly better version of Liberty — a very decent Pistol on its own. However, despite being a Pistol, Plan B is basically a Power Weapon. This means that it can shoot ricochet rounds which can easily eliminate enemies even when they are behind cover.
Moreover, since it uses Eddies as ammunition, it can potentially have infinite ammo as long as you are sitting on a massive pile of in-game money. Other than that, it also has a higher chance of applying Bleeding which can be very powerful for some builds.
Dex’s gun is nothing special when it comes to stats like DPS, range, fire rate, etc. The only unique thing about Dex’s Iconic Weapon is its unlimited ammo. Technically, it’s a lie and the gun doesn’t have infinite ammo. The reason why it appears as ‘infinite’ is because the gun fires your Eddies instead of actual bullets. And since Eddies are hard to come by in Night City, you’re better off using something else.
DPS | 250 |
Fire Rate | 5 Rounds Per Second |
Reload Speed | 2 Seconds |
If you want to use Dex’s Iconic Weapon for whatever reason, you can try this handy money farming glitch that can net you millions of Eddies in a few hours.
How to Upgrade Plan B
Just like other weapons in Cyberpunk 2077, you can upgrade Plan B all the way to Legendary. Doing so, however, requires you have to farm different Item Components. And while it may not seem super worth it to a lot of people, if you like it, you should definitely consider upgrading it to Epic at the very least since it will boost your DPS by almost 20 percent.
Alternate Pistols to Use
Lastly, if you are someone who loves to use Pistols, there are some other alternatives that you can consider. Here are our recommendations:
- Skippy — It is a Smart Pistol that can auto-target enemies for you.
- Chaos — With this Pistol, each of your shots will have a different stat, making it a gamble.
- Malorian Arms 3516 — This one is probably the best Pistol in the game. Belonging to Johnny Silverhand, Malorian Arms 3516 deals a lot of damage as compared to other options and its reload animation is second to none.
Also, while you are in the wasteland in pursuit of Plan B, do not forget to explore the area a little for some more loot.
