Elden Ring: How To Activate Grand Lift Of Dectus

In Elden Ring, reaching the Altus Plateau can be a challenge. While there are several ways to get there, the Grand Lift of Dectus is the most straightforward. However, to use this lift, you need to obtain both halves of the Dectus Medallion.

How To Obtain Dectus Medallion

Dectus Medallion location map

The first step is to travel to Fort Haight in Miswood. The left half of the Dectus Medallion is guarded at Fort Haight, located in the southern part of the Mistwood in eastern Limgrave.

Begin at the Third Church of Marika in Mistwood. Ride south from the church, following the road past patrolling Runebears and Demihumans until you reach the Fort Haight West site of grace.

From the site of grace, ascend the hill, dodging ballistae bolts and Demihumans, until you reach the fort. Inside, you will encounter various enemies, including knights, guards, rats, and a Pumpkin Head warrior. There are no bosses to fight in this fort.

Make your way up the interior scaffolding, avoiding or defeating the enemies, until you reach the top.

At the top, you’ll face a knight with a large shield and spear. With patience and well-timed dodges, defeat him to earn the Ash of War: Bloody Slash.

Turn around and spot a lone tower. Climb the ladder inside to find a chest containing the Dectus Medallion (Left).

Travel To Fort Faroth In Dragonbarrow

The right half of the Dectus Medallion can be found in Fort Faroth, located deep within Dragonbarrow in Caelid.

Begin at the Third Church of Marika in Mistwood. Head northeast to the end of the small body of water running by the church. Look for a glowing teleporter nestled among the bushes and use it to reach the Bestial Sanctum in Dragonbarrow.

From the Bestial Sanctum, follow the road south, then west, and finally eastward, grabbing the various sites of grace along the way.

As you approach Fort Faroth, you’ll find Elder Dragon Greyoll. Although Greyoll is affected by Scarlet Rot and unable to defend himself, be cautious of the smaller patrolling dragons around him. Ride around Greyoll’s massive body to reach the Fort Faroth site of grace behind him.

Fort Faroth is a dark and foreboding place filled with Giant Bats, Chanting Winged Dames, and Rats. Bring a torch or lantern to navigate through the darkness.

Inside, you can either take it slow, pulling one enemy at a time, or sprint through to the ladder at the far end of the room. Consider spending all your runes before attempting this, as a precaution.

Climb the ladder to reach a landing with a chest. Inside the chest, you will find the Dectus Medallion (Right).
