St. Trina’s Smile Talisman is one of the Southern Shores Talismans and a bit tricky to find mainly because there is a lot of navigation and maneuvering involved.
- Reach Stone Coffin Fissure
- Reach Fissure Cross – Scadutree Fragment
- Reach Fissure Waypoint
- Reach Fissure Depths
- Defeat Putrescent Knight Boss
- Imbibe nectar from St. Trina
- Find and speak with Thiollier
- Talk to St. Trina and imbibe nectar
- Talk to Thiollier until he says “I will never forgive you”
- Go to St. Trina and defeat invading Thiollier
To find St. Trina, you need to head to the southern tip of the Cerulean Coast. The entrance to the Stone Coffin Fissure is marked by a large crater. Carefully drop down from one ledge to the next until you reach the bottom. Once there, proceed through The Fissure dungeon.
At the end of the dungeon, you’ll reach the Fissure Depths site of grace. Jump down the end of the path into the abyss, leading you to a secret area with the Putrescent Knight boss.
Defeat this boss to access the Garden of Deep Purple site of grace, where you will find St. Trina.
After discovering St. Trina, travel to the Pillar Path Cross and speak with Thiollier. Inform him of St. Trina’s location. Fast travel back to St. Trina, where you will find Thiollier now present.
Engage in conversation with him, then talk to St. Trina and imbibe her Nectar four times. Each time you drink the Nectar, you will die and respawn.
Continue this until St. Trina speaks to you during the death screen after the fourth death.
Once St. Trina has spoken to you, talk to Thiollier again and exhaust all dialogue options. Pass on St. Trina’s words to him, which will make him furious, as he believes you are lying about St. Trina speaking to you.
Imbibe St. Trina’s Nectar once more, resulting in another death. Return to St. Trina, where you will be invaded by Thiollier. Defeat him to obtain St. Trina’s Smile.
Thiollier will temporarily disappear from the game but will respawn after you burn the Sealing Tree.
Continue drinking St. Trina’s Nectar until she begins repeating her lines, specifically, “You must kill Miquella… You must grant him forgiveness.” This step may require up to seven total Nectar drinks.
Next, burn the Sealing Tree at the Church of the Bud to progress the story. To do this, you must have defeated Messmer at the top of Shadow Keep Storehouse.
Note that burning the Sealing Tree is a point of no return; most NPCs will disappear, and their questlines will no longer be available. Make sure to finish any remaining side quests before proceeding.
After burning the Sealing Tree, return to St. Trina’s cave to find Thiollier on the ground. Exhaust all dialogue with him and relay St. Trina’s words again.
Drink her Nectar once more and talk to Thiollier until his final dialogue says “…AH-HA…”. This signifies you have completed the steps correctly. This must be done before fighting Leda and her Allies in Enir-Ilim, as Thiollier will disappear after this point, preventing you from finishing the quest.
Proceed through the Enir-Ilim area until you reach the Needle Knight Leda and her allies. Summon Thiollier by interacting with the golden summoning sign before interacting with Leda’s red summoning sign. If you have completed Sir Ansbach’s questline, you should also summon him to advance his questline.
Upon defeating the endboss, you can summon Thiollier for assistance, making the fight easier. Thiollier will drop his full set after the fight, including Thiollier’s Hidden Needle, Thiollier’s Mask, Thiollier’s Garb, Thiollier’s Gloves, and Thiollier’s Trousers. If Sir Ansbach’s questline is completed, he will also drop his full set after the endboss fight.
