Top 23 Rarest Items In Elden Ring And How To Get Them
The following are some of the rarest items in Elden Ring and how you can get them.
Rotten Crystal Spear And Rotten Crystal Staff
The Rotten Crystal Spear and Staff both have a 8% drop rate at 100 Discovery and are two of the few weapons in Elden Ring that apply the Scarlet Rot status effect and do magic damage as well. The Rotten Crystal Staff offers one of the best scalings compared to other Glintstone staves in Elden Ring. It also provides a 10% buff to Cystalian sorceries.
The Rotten Crystal Spear and Staff can be farmed by defeating Lesser Crystalian enemies found in Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree.
Haligtree Crest Greatshield
The Haligtree Crest Greatshield is a greatshield that has a 4% drop rate at 100 Discovery. While it is not as rare as some of the other items on this list, the process of farming it is difficult. Players need to kill a single enemy that is found near the Haligtree Roots Site of Grace to get the shield. The weapon has high Holy Damage Negation which is very helpful when dealing with bosses such as Radagon and the Elden Beast.
Monk’s Flameblade
Similar to the Haligtree Crest Greatshield, the Monk’s Flameblade also has a 4% drop rate at 100 Discovery. The curved greatsword was buffed after patch 1.09 and is ideal for people who like to use Greatsword but also want a touch of artistic flair. The weapon can be obtained by defeating a single Fire Monk in the Giant-Conquering Hero’s Grave Site Of Grace.
Banished Knight Armor
The Banished Knight Armor has a 3% drop rate at 100 Discovery and is rarer than the Volcano Manor gear because of the enemies that drop it or wear it. You can get the armor from two red-eyed spectral Banished Knights in Castle Sol at the Mountaintops of the Giants.
Ripple Crescent Halberd
The Ripple Crescent Halberd has a 2% drop rate at 100 Discovery and is unique since it is one of the few Rcane scaling weapons that does not have a default status effect. Meaning that it can be buffed. Investing in Arcane will increase its status effect build-up for bleed, poison, and Soporific Greases (sleep).
The Ripple Crescent Halberd can be farmed by defeating Albinaurics that wield it in Academy Gate Town. You can also find Albinaurics that wield it at the first ruins, east of the Fallen Ruins of the Lake Site of Grace in Liurnia. Two Albinaurics that wield can be found sitting at the southern end of the ruin and one can be found standing on the top of the ruin. You can also farm this quickly near the Palace Approach Ledge-Road Grace (underground).
Guardian’s Swordspear
Similar to the Ripple Crescent Halberd, the Guardian’s Swordspear also has a 2% drop rate at 100 Discovery. While farming this weapon can be challenging, it is worth it since the Guardian’s Swordspear is regarded as one of the best Halberds in Elden Ring. It is faster than other similar weapons and has a higher damage output as well. You can get the Guardian’s Swordspear from the six Erdtree Guardians near the Minor Erdtree Church in Altus Plateau.
Envoy’s Greathorn
Envoy’s Greathorn has a 2% drop rate at 100 Discovery and is dropped by Oracle Envoy Giants in the branches of Miquella’s Haligtree. It does not do as much DPS as the lighter Envoy’s Long Horn which has a higher 4% drop rate but it does have a unique skill called Great Oracular Bubble.
Halo Scythe
The Halo Scythe has a 2% drop rate at 100 Discovery and is one of the most popular Faith-scaling weapons in Elden Ring. It drops from Lesser Cleanrot Knights found in the Swamp of Aeonia. So farming the weapon is easier said than done. The weapon’s skill is called Miquella’s Ring of Light, which summons Miquella’s shining halo and fires it forward. The skill can be used in rapid succession.
Cleanrot Spear
Similar to the Halo Scythe, the Cleanrot Spear also drops from the Lesser Cleanrot Knights found in the Swamp of Aeonia but the weapon has a 1% drop rate at 100 Discovery. The skill of the weapon is called Sacred Phalanx and summons golden spears from the ground below, costing 12 FP and dealing 22 stance damage.
Imp Head (Cat, Fanged, Long-Tongue, Wolf)
The rare Imp Heads namely; Cat, Fanged, and Long-Tongued have a drop rate of 0.5% at 100 discovery while the Wolf head has a drop rate of 1.5%. The Cat head increases Intelligence by +2, the Fanged head increases Strength by +2 and the Long-Tongue increases Dexterity by +2. The Wolf head increases Endurance by +2. You can farm these by defeating imps in the following locations:
- Cat: Impaler’s Catacombs
- Fanged: Cliffbottom Catacombs in Liurnia of the Lakes and Wyndham Catacombs in Altus Plateau
- Long-Tongue: Subterranean Shunning-Grounds
- Wolf: Minor Erdtree Catacombs
Octopus Head
Similar to the Imp heads, the Octopus Head has a 0.5% drop rate at 100 discovery. It can be farmed by defeating Land Octopuses (not Giant Land Octopuses). You can find them south of the Saintsbridge Site of Grace, southwest of the Temple Quarter Site of Grace in Liurnia of the Lakes, and North of the Siofra River Bank Site of Grace.
Celebrant’s Cleaver, Celebrant’s Rib-rake, and Celebrant’s Sickle
Celebrant’s Cleaver, Celebrant’s Rib-rake, and Celebrant’s Sickle have a 0.5% drop rate and can be farmed in Dominula, Windmill village, towards the north of Altus Plateau. The village is filled with apparently harmless dancing villagers but they turn against you. These weapons have incredibly low drop rates, so there is RNG involved.
Magma Blade
The Magma Blade has a 1% drop rate and looks like Kratos’ Blades of Chaos from God of War. The weapon can be farmed by defeating Man-Serpant enemies that have orange-glowing Magma Blades in Volcano Manor. The weapon has a unique skilled called Magma Shower that covers the area around the player in Magma, damaging enemies that walk into it.
Noble’s Estoc and Noble’s Slender Sword
Noble’s Estoc and Noble’s Slender Sword both have a 0.5% drop rate. These are hidden in plain sight but since they are so rare, they are hard to come by unless you farm them specifically. You can farm them by defeating Wandering Nobles, one of the easiest enemy types to defeat in Elden Ring.
Aristocrat Headband
Aristocrat Headband has a 0.5% drop rate and drops from Noble Sorcerers. Noble Sorcerers are often found with groups of Wandering Nobles. You can find them in Kingsrealm Ruins near the Road to the Manor site of grace. You can also find them near the illusory wall near Iji’s workstation.
Black Dumpling
The Black Dumpling helm is very rare with only a 0.5% drop rate. This can only be farmed by killing First Generation Albinaurics found at the Volcano Manor or in the lower Leyndell Royal Capital. Three of them can be found close to the Church of the Eclipse Site of Grace in Castle Sol.
Tips To Buff Drop Rate And Discovery In Elden Ring
Discovery is an important stat that you need to consider if you are looking for some of the rarest items in Elden Ring. You start with 100 Discovery but you want that number to be higher to have better drop rates for different items such as weapons and armor. Here are some tips and tricks on how you can increase drop rates and Discovery in Elden Ring.
Invest Points Into Arcane
Each point you invest in Arcane will increase your Discovery by +1. So investing in Arcane will increase your discovery from the base 100 points that you start with.
Silver-Pickled Fowl Foot
The Silver-Pickled Fowl Foot temporarily (3 minutes) increases discovery. You can find this in the open world or craft it using the following resources:
- 3x Rowa Fruit
- 1x Four-Toed Fowl Foot
- 1x Silver Firefly
You will need the Missionary’s Cookbook 3 to craft Silver-Pickled Fowl Foot.
Silver Scarab Talisman
The Silver Scarab Talisman is a more permanent option as long as you have it equipped. This will boost your Discovery by +75.
Other Items That Boost Discovery
Other items that you can equip to boost your discovery include:
- Marika’s Soreseal (+5)
- Marika’s Scarseal (+3)
- Silver Tear Mask (+8)
- Albinauric Mask (+4)
- Witch’s Glintstone Crown (+3)
- Mask of Confidence (+3)
- Imp Head (Elder) (+2)
- Marais Mask (+1)
