If you want to progress fast in Elden Ring you need to get as many runes as you can. You’ll need them to purchased cookbooks and other useful items. There are multiple ways to get your hands on runes and in this guide, we will discuss everything you need to know about runes farming in Elden Ring.
Beginner Rune Farming Location
For this farming spot you first need to get your hands on a Flail. It is a powerful early game weapon that can take down trolls and giants. The image you see above shows the location of a Warmaster’s Shack site of grace which we will use to farm this area.
Head to the site of grace and then head down to the location of the giant’s spawn (also shown in the image above). What are going to do is kill the giant using the flail and then immediately (without worrying about Rune spawning) go back to the site of grace to respawn the giant.
Kill > leave > respawn > comeback > repeat.
A giant can drop 1000 Runes per minute which means you can farm up to 60K runes in 60 minutes.
300K XP Farm in Elden Ring
Next and probably the best farming location is next to Lenne’s Rise site of grace in Greyoll’s Dragon Barrow. You’ll need a mount here which will allow you to dodge the giant ball that spawns here. Here’s a video showing exactly what you need to do:
Basically, the giant ball spawns behind you and you need to dodge it to get 2000 Rune per dodge. You can earn 4800 rune per minute and almost 300K runes per hour.
