How to Start
Varre is the first NPC you will encounter after the Prologue, right outside the Stranded Graveyard elevator near The First Step — Site of Grace. He is notable for his “Maidenless” comment that you might have seen floating around in various memes.
Rose Church
Once you have defeated Godrick at the Stormveil Castle, head back to The First Step to find a message from him, leading you to the Rose Church. In case the message is not there, you may need to speak to Finger Reader Enia at the Roundtable Hold.
You will then need to speak to him at the Rose Church in Liurnia, west of the Academy Gate Town. To get there, fast-travel to the Academy Gate Town — Site of Grace and head directly west, across the wetlands to a small island.
Invasions
Speak with Varre at Rose Church, and he will ask for your impression of the Two Fingers. Simply say that they “didn’t seem right” to progress the questline. Varre will then give you Festering Bloody Fingers and ask you invade other players.
You simply need to invade three players — winning or losing does not matter.
Important
Soaking Lord of Blood’s Favor
At this point, you will need to to soak the Lord of Blood’s Favor in Maiden’s Blood. There are a couple of methods to do that:
- The deceased maiden at the Church of Anticipation, accessible via the Four Belfries.
- The Church of Inhibition in northern Liurnia.
- Killing NPC Irina or Hyetta, although this can end their respective quests.
After getting the Maiden Blood, return to Varre for the Pureblood Knight Medal which can be used to travel to Mohgwyn Palace. You will also acquire an infinite-use Bloody Finger to invade others.
Varre Invasion
You will find his invasion sign near the Mausoleum Dynasty. You can defeat him in the invasion to get Varre’s Bouquet and Festering Bloody Fingers, bringing an end to his quest.
Accessing Mohgwyn Palace via Consecrated Snowfield
If you wish to get to Mohgwyn Palace for the infinite ruin farm by completely bypassing Varre’s quest, you will need to get through the Consecrated Snowfield. To access this area, you need to get the Haligtree Secret Medallion halves.
- The first half is found in the Village of the Albinaurics in Liurnia of the Lakes.
- The second half is located in Castle Sol in Mountaintops of the Giants.
Once you have both halves, use them at the Grand Lift of Rold, north of Leyndell, Royal Capital.
In the Consecrated Snowfield, head northwest from the Yelough Anix — Site of Grace. Simply search for a hidden blood-covered teleportal, which is the direct gateway to Mohgwyn Palace.
